Family faces in a variety of places

Allora : this is Gino's brother Mauro, Gino and his brother Leo. You must appreciate my triumph at being able to name these people to you; over the course of the week i met THIRTY-NINE of Gino's relatives (i dealt with it all by mapping out a family tree as i went!)

And behind all these wonderful people; his 97 year old mother Lidia who bought up 6 children by herself after her husband died just before Gino's birth. These children all have children who have children...

Eugenia and Dario at one of our nightly family dinners

Me and Guila - she's learning english at school, so in preparation for my upcoming job i spent the week giving her english lessons, playing hangman, and trying desperately to teach her the meanings and accurate pronounciation for all the american songs she liked to sing as she bellowed out 'Like a Virgin' at the top of her voice.

a father and two sons...

The two english family members stuck out amongst all that dark italian hair

Dario and his second cousin Andrea - he took us out after this particular family meal to a 'discoteque' (italian word for club) that was outside in the hills overlooking this seaside town of Castillione that was all lit up. totally awesome, but i didn't take my camera unfortunately.

The family of three...

Okay so this bunch are of no immediate relation as far as we know... they were the actors of an outdoor summer Greek tragedy amongst Roman and Truscan ruins

It was a long trek up to the amphitheatre, but worth it to see the remains of these 'shops' from the 1200's.
