Gavorano: The really old Italian villages are set up high in the mountains, where they could avoid flooding and have a good outlook over the land for defence - the opposite mentality to traditional English villages that situated themselves in the valleys close to water and protected from the weather by surrounding hillsides.



Little village street with a little village bar where a coffee cost a modest 80 euro cents, and they had a sign to make sure you knew it didn't cost you extra if you wanted to sit down to drink it.

Hidden little streets... italian drivers have an uncanny ability to squeeze themselves past each other in streets like this where i would have thought only a scooter could get through.
