Down town Dublin

Weeeell... just to avoid the dismal dutch excuse for a summer (it has been thunderstorms til now) we decided to take a week to drive around Ireland in search of some leprechauns.
After some infuriating arguments with a pimply Hertz-rent-a-car-service-person (who i was disgusted to find was named Nicola) we were off in search of a pint in Dublin.

This is the Temple Bar district. The place to go out in Ireland.

First Guinness of the journey.

It was my first taste ever and I wasn't too impressed (i cheated and borrowed Jackson's for this shot). It tasted like horse poo.

A couple of jamming Irishmen, doing some covers of traditional ol' Pogues songs.

It has to be done...

...otherwise you just get depressed at the tacky kitch-ness of tourist souvenirs (toothbrushes and magnets?? what's the attraction??)

THE GUINNESS MUSEUM

Of course, a natural follow on from the Heineken museum in Amsterdam.

Jackson sampling some cold-chill Guinness *exclusive* to Ireland.

Getting incredibly dutch... it was free with the tour... it still didn't appeal to me however.

360 degree views of Industrial Dublin. Quite amused of this Irish version of a windmill though, which seemed to be missing a few crucial parts?

If you go there in the near future, look out for our tag on the tank (fifth floor?). Not sure how often they clear them away.

From Dublin we cruised down to Kilkenny for lunch and a whip round the castle gardens.
